Service Description

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is one of the largest art museums in the world and the second most visited in the world (after the Louvre). For art lovers not visiting this magnificent museum while being in New York would be equal to flying to Paris and leaving the Louvre unattended. I believe that after a city tour, the next part of your NYC program should be a trip to the Metropolitan! The Met has everything - from Egyptian and Assyrian antiquities, to medieval arms and armor, from interiors and household items to jewelry and Tiffany lamps, from musical instruments (one of which is made from … a part of a human body) to costumes and carpets. And of course, the richest collection of sculpture and painting of all times, peoples, trends and schools. It is impossible to see all the exhibits of the museum in one day, but it is possible and even necessary to get a general idea of the richest collection of the Metropolitan museum of art and walk through its highlights in 3 hours. The price of your entrance tickets to the museum ($30) is not included in the price of the tour. You can buy tickets yourself online (do not forget to indicate the entry time, tickets are now sold strictly on time, the so-called timed tickets), but usually I buy tickets for my tourists in advance and give them to you them when we meet in the museum lobby, you pay for them and the tour itself after we finish it. Also, you can take advantage of my 10% discount card in the Met’s souvenir store - arguably the best museum store in all NYC - when buying interesting gizmos and books in the museum's gift shop. If you have things planned for the morning, we can start our tour of the Metropolitan in the afternoon, around 2PM or 2:30PM, but as a rule we start at 10:30AM - 11:00AM, giving some time for the opening rush of visitors to settle. You can get to the Met on your own by taxi or by subway (86th street station of 4, 5 and 6 routes of the green line). The address of the museum's main entrance is 82nd Street on 5th Avenue (you can say this to a yellow cab driver: “82nd and 5th, the Met”). There is also the “all inclusive museum with transportation” option for a little additional fee of $50 - I pick you up from your hotel in my car, take you to the museum and take you back to the hotel after the tour. We meet near the statue of the Pharaoh to the right of the entrance, inside the main hall of th
